WFRP4 - Archives of the Empire Volume III Review (Cubicle7, DriveThruRPG)

Cubicle7 new book is third Archives of the Empire. Like previous ones, it is package of different articles, rules (or advanced rules), careers and other information. These are always interesting and expand the rules we have. They are not tied to region or anything else and this way you can add any rules in to one package. To find some specific rule from various sourcebooks might eventually get little difficult... But, these are still good rulebooks. So, what we have now:

- Legitimate Business Enterprises. This is interesting article with rules. If characters want to start some type of enterprise (there are many different examples here) you got number of rules how that might work (or not work). Basically earn money from something else than adventuring, or during the time periods between. Besides general rules, each enterprise type has it's own details (and even some adventure hooks). And you also get few examples (with secrets).
- Expanded armour rules. You got armour fitting rules, damage rules, stealth rules, repairing rules, and finally expanded armour list.
- The Cult of Handrich, with Cult Priest career and miracles.
- The Cult of Khaine. No careers or miracles.
- The Cult of Solkan, with Cult Priest career and miracles.
- Cult of the Old Faith. No careers or miracles, but there are rules for careers and blessings found from Core Rulebook. And there are plenty of good background information.
- Hedgecraft. Good amount of information and spells.
- The Cult of Rhya, with Cult Priestess career and Miracles.
- Magical Animal Familiars. Rules and animal stats.
- Altdorf background(s) for Characters.
- Alternative Channelling rules. Each Lore has number of details.
- And then some NPC.

Besides all mentioned, there are a lot of small details and background information scattered to different articles and chapters.

WFRP4 - Salzenmund - City of Salt and Silver Review (Cubicle7, DriveThruRPG)

Cubicle7 has published excellent citybooks, with nice maps and huge amount of details, characters (with pictures), hooks and other ideas. First came Ubersreik (visited also on WFRP3 sourcebooks), which has expanded with various adventures. Then I think came Middenheim as part of TEW Director's Cut. Middenheim was old friend from WFRP1 and WFRP2 (and also WFRP3), but still it had new look and much more details. Then finally came book about Altdorf, which is featured on many adventures and stories (ok, there was small sourcebook about Altdorf as part of WFRP2 Paths of the Damned). But, now we finally got to unexplored territory - Salzenmund (and Nordland). And it is another excellent city sourcebook.

Salzenmund - City of Salt and Silver. Why Salzenmund? Well, why not - It connects nicely to the current events considering Civil Strife. Also, it is very intersting place as the Norland controls The Imperial Second Fleet and it is connected to the Sea of Claws (and this way everywhere). Like all the Cubicle7 books, this is full of nice art. Many pictures (and also map) about the city give nice idea about the place.

Here's some topics from the book about Salzenmund:
- History and current situation
- Rulers
- The Military
- Law
- Magic
- Religion
- Non-Humans
- City Districts detailed
- Secrets of Salzenmund...
- And many persons from the Salzenmund with details and pictures

But, that is not all. Book also has:
- Details about The Grand Barony of Nordland
- Gazetteer of Nordland
- Forests Spirits
- Mining
- Goblins
- Smuggling
- And finally Nordland Characters

And after all that, there are still even more details and information on the book. And from the TEW campaign books you will find even more information about the current political situation of Nordland.

WFRP4: Animal Trainer & WFRP: The Empire: From Civil Strife to the Storm (v1.5)

Happy New Year! Time to publish something updated and something new. Updated little my The Empire: From the Civil Strife to the Storm document. And then I have started building new Careers for the WFRP4 and the first one is here: Animal Trainer. There will be more. These careers are more "universal", so they are suitable to many species and cultures. Some, like Animal Trainer, will feature new rules.

WFRP4 Career: Animal Trainer, Version 1.0 (PDF).

The Empire: From Civil Strife to the Storm, Version 1.5 (PDF). Spoiler Alert! You should always consult your GM first before reading these... Now, even the document has spoilers about TEW ending, but who doesn't know these things? They have been World-That-Was history for a long time.

WFRP4 - Altdorf: Crown of the Empire PDF OUT NOW! (Cubicle7, DriveThruRPG)

As you may have noticed Cubicle7 has published Altdorf: Crown of the Empire sourcebook (currently PDF only). As promised, it is massive. Over 200 pages full of information and beatiful art. Style is similar to previous sourcebook Middenheim: City of the White Wolf, but even bigger. So, where to begin - Let's start with map.

Map
Map looks familiar. Exactly the same as found from The End Times: Glottkin. Well, that is the official look, so better not change it too much. Style of the map is similar to new Middenheim map. Pretty nice 3D view. Not bad, but not the best either. What troubled me on The End Times map and now here is that Altdorf looks too small. I know the map is little abstract view, but still it could, or should, have had little more buildings. Maybe little bigger scale too. And how far is that Altdorf's Reiksport? Well, it is mentioned on the book too. Still, map is pretty nice.

Sourcebook
Like I mentioned already - massive. The amount of details, hooks, ideas is just huge. Could there be more? Well, maybe little more (streetnames, little more places...), but book is still great, with full of information.
- History and Timeline (But, did the timeline go right?)
- Governance of Altdorf. Which gives details from the Emperor's Family to various ambassadors.
- Gangs of Altdorf (The Fish and The Hooks)
- Details of City from district to district
- Beyond the Walls
- Espionage in Altdorf (another interesting addition)
- Proscribed Cults and Extremist Groups
- Over 45 detailed NPCs (didn't count myself). These include famous characters like Rosanna Ophuls, Thyrus Gormann, Filthy Harald Kleindeinst, Kurt Hellborg...
- Festivals, entertainment, knightly orders, bed and board, gates, bridges, weather, bestiary...etc.

WFRP4 - Shrines of Sigmar PDF (Cubicle7, DriveThruRPG)

Happy New Year! And what better way to start new year, than some new reading for the WFRP.

Cubicle7 has published another interesting small PDF resource Shrines of Sigmar. It features five Sigmar's Shrine locations, which are: Delberz, Uathach (Bögen Valley), The Hammer's Stand (Reikwald Forest), Ruins of Lowengen village, and Fielbach. You can buy it from DriveThruRPG.

Each location has some basic information, and then the interesting part titled "The Secret" (they are all very interesting, but I personally liked Fielbach's - town which you can find south from Altdorf along the River Reik). Each location also features table for praying results and Adventure Hooks (and even little more information). Very interesting resource, which can easily be used with any WFRP version. Fan - Perilous Sands, an Arabyan Sourcebook

This is one of the most amazing unofficial WFRP projects I have seen: Perilous Sands by Le Passant . An Unofficial Arabyan Sourcebook for Warhammer.

It is a massive piece of fan-work! It features over 360 pages of information. It has everything you need to know about Lands of Araby: People, land, states, cities, maps, history, armies, law, tradition, commerce, cults, beliefs, careers, magic, bestiary, adventure hooks... The amount of detail and knowledge it has is just amazing. Also, the document itself has a very beatiful and profession look. Great work! Remember - even sourcebook is done for WFRP2, the information works with other versions too.
