I was really hoping, that Deft Steps Light Fingers (WFRP4 sourcebook) would had classical Woodsman Career also, but no. Woodsman Career has been on Warhammer RPG since WFRP1. WFRP4 rules mention that Villager Career would handle this - But no it doesn't. I still think it serves own career. So here it is. AND it has also optional 2nd Level/Tier.

WFRP4 - Temporary Runes, Version 1.0 (PDF)
Here's a new rule. This is something, that was missing from the Dwarf Player's Guide (WFRP4 sourcebook), so I decided to create simple rule myself. Something that has been on the previous editions also and I think works well with the new Careers that have the ability to create various Runes.

Happy Birthday Kalevala Hammer!
Happy Birthday this site! Site is now 18 years old.
I don't really know what to say here. Site starts to become adult finally :-) Maybe in the internet years this site could even be considered Full Beard now... Well, site still serves the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay community and more updates and other things are coming.
Keep the hammer high! Cheers J

WFRP4 - Lords of Stone and Steel (Cubicle7, DriveThruRPG)
Finally I had time to check out the second book about the Dwarfs. Not as large as the first one, but still nice package of information. Compination of these two sourcebooks is a mighty source about the Dwarfs. Where the first ones focuses more about Dwarf Characters and their religion, weapons and runes, this one details their world. I added review about the first one here too.

- Karaz Ankor - The ancient empire of the Dwarfs. Chapter details their realms: Rulers, Elders, holds (on each mountain range), map of the Dwarf Empire, Norsca holds, lost holds, gazetteer...
- Karak Norn. Details, maps, personel... All about the hold, its surroundings, the Underdeep.
- Adventuring Underground. Number of rules about adventuring in the underground realms.
- Various random events that can be used between adventures, and then new endeavrours.
- The Dwarf-Focused Campaign ideas. There are good ideas about campaings, The Underway, The Empire, Grudges, Oaths, Slayers (including Wards of Grimnir).
- Skaven. Old nemesis of the Dwarfs. If you have Dwarfs, you got to have vermin too...
- Book also has number of famous personel with detailed information, that can be used as patrons. My favorites are off course WFRP4 version of Gotrek Gurnisson and Felix Jaegar, with their famous weaponry.

Bestiary: -
- Book starts with history and timeline. Timeline is not the one we had on Dwarfs - Stone and Steel (WFRP1 sourcebook). It is the new official one, that was on Warhammer Fantasy Battle.
- Some information about their realms (Karaz Ankor), life, politics, even about Norse Dwarfs.
- Then the actual Dwarfs. From beards to clans to Grudges to Dwarf diet.
- Dwarf characters and careers. This is always interesting. Names, places of origin, about Khazalid… etc. Then we finally get to Skills and Talents based on your origin. Not every hold or place is given here, but most. And then careers. Some of the careers from the Core Rulebook are modified to be better suitable for Dwarfs. Interesting way to handle them changing more or less the original career and giving options. There is even options for the Slayer Career. And then new careers.
- Priests are back. WFRP1 they had powers, WFRP2 they didn’t. Warhammer Online presented strange Rune Priest... And now we have Rune Priests. They have limited Runes, which is interesting twist.
- New Skills and large number of new Talents.
- Grudges.
- Runesmithing, famous Rune weapons, and nice list of various Runes (finally). Runes are divided to familiar categories (weapon, armour…etc.) and there are normal Runes and master Runes (no Levels on Runes). But where are the temporary Runes?! They are mentioned multiple times, but no rules. Temporary Runes would be good ability for the both Priests and Runesmiths now. Well, easy fix. Just make each SL test about 10 minutes long (not week). And can only be used once.
- And then information about all the Ancestor Gods.

Warhammer - The Old World - Roleplaying Game (Cubicle7)
Warhammer: The Old World (World-That-Was) will have this year Roleplaying Game too made by Cubicle 7. There has been some "rumours" about this RPG for a some time, but this week Cubicle 7 published couple of blog posts. One was just about RPG, other is list of future products, including The Old World RPG. I have posted some news about the WFB time to time. It has expanded fast. So - new era, new lighter (easier) system, new books... Is it going to be interesting or not? Well, that remains to be seen. But, even if you don't like the game mechanics there will be sourcebooks about interesting era and you probably can pretty easily play it with any rules you prefer.
Setting is 2200 IC (2276), so it is few decades before The Great War Against Chaos (coming soon), and few centuries before the "default" WFRP settings (and The End Times). The Empire is divided after the death of Emperor Mandred von Zelt, which lead to civil war. Magical Colleges has not been formed yet, so wizards are little different on this era. On WFB they are more like what they were on WFRP1 rules mixing different Winds of Magic. So casting could be (or should be) little more unstable and maybe not as strong as later on... Otherwise setting has pretty much same factions - World hasn't changed that much over the centuries.
You can find the link to the official site below and find the news there.
By the way... I like short name WFRP. What should The Old World be called then? WTOWR? TOWR? TOW?

Warhammer Community: The Old World WFB (Warhammer Community)
Warhammer: The Old World (World-That-Was), is expanding. There are alot of news and new factions coming all the time to the game. But this one got my eye: The Grand Cathay.
The Grand Cathay has always been mysterious realm in the Warhammer World, that has not been explored very much officially. There have been some little details there and there over the years (novels, WFB, WFRP, maps...) and off course various fan-projects. But then came the Total War: Warhammer III, which finally opened possibility to play Grand Cathay and gave us huge amount of new official information about the realm and its people (and Dragons). Now comes Warhammer: The Old World and Grand Cathay army.
I have collected here latest articles. They lead to Warhammer Community site:
Bring harmony to the Old World with the armies of Grand Cathay (27 Mar 25) Official Site
Warhammer: The Old World – Empire of Grand Cathay Revealed (27 Mar 25) Official Site
